NEW LIGHT
Project Profile – Master Bathroom Addition
2 Bedroom / 2.5 Bathroom House – San Francisco Bay Area, CA
When doing a total house remodel and literally changing the location of everything, and even replacing all the windows, the possibilities are endless. This couple relocated their Kitchen to create a new master bathroom and walk-closet space. The previous arrangement only had one bathroom, and the finished home will now have 2.5 bathrooms.
In order to have the master bathroom be in the old kitchen footprint, we needed to relocate a small window that used to be over the kitchen sink. We all wanted to retain the natural light. The new floor-to-ceiling frosted window is located where the old porch door used to be, with framing and the opening to external of the house already in place, this addition was simple and seamless.
The large master shower now with a marble bench and herringbone textured walls has a lightness and character. We decided on mixed metals, oil rubbed bronze and polished nickel to add sophistication to the design. The warm touch of the reclaimed wood vanity was the final touch to create a perfect master bathroom for the couple that matches their personality.
